This is deadass an almost wORD FOR WORD version of my post on Miraculous Amino that got like 5 likes I’m so sorry I’m tired and it’s one of the best descriptions I have of this AU. Note that this was meant to explain the AU to mainly the Miraculous audience—many of which who have not seen BB, which means it’s gonna be v weirdly explained.
Hey-o! Soni here! After 400 years of chillin’ in the BBA, I’ve decided to expand my horizons and introduce to this here Amino to something I’ve worked on for [4 months now??], my Kuroshitsuji/Miraculous AU!
I’m a very big fan of both Miraculous [no duh] and the manga series Kuroshitsuji, and after the events of chapter 135 of Kuroshitsuji, which featured a whole buncha moths, my creative juices got flowing, and from that whirlwind of obsession, Papillon!Ciel was born!
To summarize real quick on this little guy, he sorta fills the role of Hawk Moth, but doesn’t really have the same story [nor the same name]. He serves as more of a variation [just like many other characters in this AU].
Ciel is an orphaned rich kid and heir to the Funtom Toy Company who lives in a large mansion with his butler, Sebastian, being his only companion [apart from Nooroo]. Due to injuries that came with a fire that occurred when he was 10, he retains injuries [rather than a contract mark] in his right eye, which is why it remains covered by an eyepatch. Until the beginning of the story, he is privately tutored [similar to Adrien], until Elizabeth, his childhood friend, convinces him to enroll at school. This comes with many complications, considering that, unbeknownst to everyone but his butler, he’s Paris’ resident supervillain. Just like the current Hawk Moth, his goal is to get the Miraculous so he can achieve absolute power and fulfill his wish.
Now that you know who started it all [it’s rather ironic, considering the Origins episode started with Hawk Moth haha], time to see our heroes!
If you remember, I mentioned a certain Elizabeth earlier.
Well…turns out she plays a pre-tty big role.
Yep, that’s right! Paris’ cutie and Ciel’s childhood friend/love interest also doubles as Paris’ heroine!
Picking her to fill the role of Ladybug was honestly a no-brainer. She already had the adorable pigtails, as well as a big heart and an amazing talent when it comes to combat!
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Midford is the younger sibling of Edward Midford and childhood friend of Ciel Phantomhive. Elizabeth shows a lot of affection for Ciel, wishing nothing more than to see him be his happy self once again. Because of this, she goes from convincing him to enroll into school, to constantly inviting him out for things such as ice cream or the movies. She has never said it blatantly, but it is very clear she is in love with Ciel. Elizabeth also enjoys cute things, and loves arts and crafts as well as fashion. She takes her role as Ladybug very seriously and responsibly, and tries her very best to protect Paris and all of its citizens, especially her loved ones. She’s very sensitive and easily swayed, however, and relies on Tikki for emotional support and guidance.
Moving on, let’s meet our Chat Noir!
If you are not familiar with the character already, this is Edward Midford, Lizzie’s overprotective older brother!
Now I know what you’re thinking: “bUT SONI, THE LOVE SQUARE!! HOW WILL IT WORK IF THEY’RE SIBLINGS?! WOULDN’T CHAT NOIR BE IN LOVE WITH HIS SISTER EW NOPE NOPE NOPE.”
About that—I found a loophole to the reveal rule.
Characters in ML are able to recognize an akumatized person based on either their actions or something they say. How fast they recognize the akumatized victim depends on how well they know them [ie. Adrien recognized The Bubbler to be Nino almost instantly, but it took Ladybug and Chat Noir almost half an episode to realize Aurore was Stormy Weather]. Now, Edward mentions in the Weston Arc that when Lizzie’s around, he’s her main focus:
With this in mind, it’s actually very plausible for Chat to be able to recognize Ladybug, even if Edward wasn’t able to canonically recognize Professor Michaelis to be Sebastian [who was my main reference in determining whether or not specific characters could recognize Ladybug and Chat Noir. Most of them are no, and I decided to hold Ciel to the same standard, despite the fact he knew all along].
K now that that’s out of the way, here’s a lil summary on Edward.
Edward is the eldest Midford child and the older brother of Elizabeth Midford, as well as half of Paris’ superhero duo. He loves his sister dearly, and shows dislike to Ciel Phantomhive for being favored by Lizzie. He’s a year older than his sister, and has a best friend named Cheslock [who he nicknames Che, and who nicknames him Eddie-o, much to his disdain]. Unlike Adrien, he’s much more serious with his superhero role, sometimes coming off as rather uptight [he becomes a bit more carefree over time though]. Even so, he’s loyal toward Ladybug to a fault, and will lay down his life for hers without hesitation. He manages to handle Plagg quite well, considering the latter resembles his best friend quite a lot.
Alright, I think that covers enough when it comes to the characters! There are others, of course, but I feel like these three are the most imporyant [and if I go on this post might get a bit TOO long].
I’ll leave you with a some notes on this AU:
• It’s very canon divergent, given i wanna combine many elements of both series, and make it my own take. Because of this, many plot points change, such as the way the story goes, and the fact that the only Miraculous are the seven we see in the opening screens of seasons one and two.
•The AU [which is currently in production as a fic] will have three volumes which serve as “seasons”. So far there are only three volumes planned.
• As hinted, this will be a Cielizzie-centric AU, which will feature the love square in a more unconventional way [because I have nothing if not the enemies to lovers trope]. Even so, their relationship is actually not very well-developed romantic-wise so , and leads toward a more platonic side. This might be a thing that sticks through most of it.
